Yesterday morning (Thursday, 9 August) a 29-year-old man was left critically injured following an industrial accident at a factory in Krugersdorp.
Medical emergency service ER24 reported that paramedics, along with another service, arrived on the scene to find the man with his legs trapped inside a large machine.
Paramedics assessed the man and found that he was in a critical condition, having sustained serious injuries to both his lower legs.
Rescue paramedics, along with some of the factory workers, used a plasma cutter to free the victim from the machine.
Once freed, paramedics treated him and provided him with advanced life support interventions. He was transported to a nearby private hospital for urgent treatment.
