Motorcycle and car collide, pillion passenger found 50 metres from crash

A man was killed and two others injured on Saturday, 14 April, afternoon following a collision between a light motor vehicle and motorcycle on the R512 in Muldersdrift.

ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on the scene to find the vehicle and motorcycle in the middle of the road. The male motorcyclist, believed to be in his late 20s, was found lying next to the motorbike while his passenger, a woman, was found lying approximately 50 metres away.

Russel Meiring, spokesperson for ER24 reported that paramedics assessed the patients and found that the man had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life.

“Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead,” said Meiring.

The woman was assessed and found to be in a critical condition, having sustained several serious injuries.

Paramedics treated the woman and provided her with advanced life support interventions. She was later airlifted by the ER24 Oneplan helicopter to a nearby private hospital.

The driver of the vehicle was also assessed and found to have sustained minor injuries. He was treated and transported by another service to a nearby hospital.

Local authorities were on the scene to investigate further.
