Mogale City Local Municipality’s November 2017 Integrated Development Plan (IDP) Mayoral Roadshows were a huge success, with scores of community members gathering in the different communities to be part of the municipality’s service delivery decision-making processes.

Executive Mayor, councillor Patrick Lipudi, together with his Mayoral Committee team, councillors and municipal employees embarked on a three-week IDP roadshow to determine the developmental needs and priorities of both residents and stakeholders in all the wards throughout the city.

The IDP feedback and consultation meetings, which kick-started on 6 November, sought to outline the municipality’s development strategies and priorities, and give feedback on issues raised during consultative meetings held earlier this year.

The IDP roadshows seek inputs and recommendations into the revision of the 2018/ 19 IDP and Budget, and also give communities an opportunity to express service delivery challenges in their respective wards.

In his addresses, the Executive Mayor encouraged communities to work closely with their ward councillors and ward committees. He also inspired communities to become actively involved in all municipal programmes and projects that the city seeks to undertake.

The communities across the city raised issues ranging from crime, unemployment, housing, provision of water and sanitation in rural areas, to upgrading of sporting facilities.

Mayor Lipudi would like to thank all residents and stakeholders across the various sectors who continue to play a pivotal role during these public participation meetings.
