Mosupatsela Secondary School is 70 years old, and to celebrate, a gala dinner will take place in the Chief Mogale Hall on 1 December.

The dinner is to commemorate the milestone of a school that was built and operated in Munsieville for the first 37 years of its existence.

Mosupatsela School Governing Body (SGB) Chairperson, Beauty Nyandeni, said this dinner is a celebration for Krugersdorp as a whole, as the school moved from Munsieville to Kagiso.

“Many people do not know the interesting history of the school, which has been situated in Kagiso for about 53 years, after it was moved from Munsieville, where the original school was built in 1947,” said Beauty.

It’s a school where history is being made and nothing takes the place of hard work and focus, with improved results that bear testimony to the fact. Since 2013, the school has achieved a pass rate of over 90 per cent, with a dedicated SGB, great teachers, a visionary principal (Banks Phatswane), a progressive teacher’s union and officials working together – making a whole lot of difference and producing proud and successful learners.

The dinner will start at 6pm and will include a starter, main course and dessert and there will be great prizes on offer to the Best Dressed Couples under the theme ‘Vintage’. Tickets are available at the school at a cost of R500 per couple or R300 per single.
