Breaking News: Elderly woman murdered in Wentworth Park

Krugersdorp Police have confirmed that a 76-year-old woman was killed in her house in Timber Street, Wentworth Park this morning, 12 October.

In a statement, the police said they were investigating a case of house robbery and murder after the incident.

“It is alleged that the neighbour saw the burglars forcing the window open,” said Tshepiso Mashele, spokesperson for Krugersdorp Police.

“He called the police. On further investigation, the body of a 76-year-old woman was discovered in the house. Her hands were tied together.”

“Brigadier Baloyi, Krugersdorp Police station commander, said he was ‘saddened by this kind of act that threatens the safety of our elderly in their homes’,” said Mashele.

Krugersdorp Police would like to appeal to the community for any information that could help arrest those involved in this senseless crime. Information can be forwarded to the Krugersdorp Police on 011 951 1151 or to Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
