Three weeks ago, a vehicle was stolen from an owner’s yard, but after a high-speed chase between police and the attempted robbery suspects, the vehicle was returned to its rightful owner.

On Tuesday, 11 July, patrollers from the Sector 3 Community Policing Forum received a complaint of attempted robbery via their radios. The patrollers went to the address, where they spotted a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle that was stolen three weeks ago.

The patrollers started following the vehicle and tried to stop the driver. However, the driver sped up and a high-speed chase ensued. They continued chasing the stolen vehicle and when it moved into Sector 4, patrollers from that sector joined the chase.

The suspects got out of the vehicle and made a run for it.

Sector 8 and a Dowry High Risk Reaction Unit also joined in the chase. Eventually the group managed to trap the vehicle between a bush and a wall on Carol Road in Silverfields. The suspects jumped out and made a run for it, over the railroad, and disappeared into the night.

The vehicle was recovered and safely returned to its owner.
