Thank you Krugersdorp for lending a hand to help baby Hope

Community members donated a trolley full of baby products and clothes for baby Hope.

Since a newborn baby was found dumped in a toilet in Key West Shopping Centre on Friday, 5 May, the Krugersdorp community has made an incredible effort to help the baby with food, clothes, blankets and even nappies.

Baby Hope was left in a toilet at about 11am that day and from the moment she was discovered, kindhearted women helped her in any way they possibly could. In an effort to make sure she has everything she needs, Key West’s Centre management launched a clothing drive for her.

Michelle Papastefanou, spokesperson for Key West Shopping Centre and Sasha-Lee Hackenburg, a marketing assistant, pushing the trolley of goods past the toilet where a baby was found two weeks ago.

On Thursday, 18 May, the centre contacted the News to come and collect a trolley full of products for baby Hope. Nappies, bottles, clothes and even wet wipes filled the cart to the brim. These were donated by shoppers and some stores in the centre.

Key West’s Centre Management would like to thank the community for their generous contribution of baby products, clothing and blankets for baby Hope.

“It is wonderful to see how giving the Krugersdorp community is in times of need,” said Michelle Papastefanou, spokesperson for Key West.
