Nail-biting matches for KHS

KHS boys showed prowess on the field and won 3–0.

Once again, a fantastic annual derby between Krugersdorp High School (KHS) and Rand Park High School proved to be a great success for both schools, with a great balance of sport recently being played between the two schools.

The annual rivalry forms an integral part of the all-sports calendar for KHS and Rand Park High School. Over the years a great relationship has developed between the two.

Saturday, 6 May was no different when netball, hockey and rugby marched were played at Rand Park. The netball was dominated by KHS whose teams had two losses overall. The hockey was a great success for the visitors who dominated both on grass and the Astro turf. The weekend of hockey is always viewed as a great warm-up for the Aitken and Boden Tournaments taking place this weekend (13 May) where the top hockey sides will be showcased. The Krugersdorp boys definitely showed prowess on the field as the first side won 3–0 in a great game.

Rand Park played the superior rugby on the day, however the highlight was the KHS first side that beat the hosts 20–17 in a nail-biter, with KHS dominating the last 10 minutes. This was definitely the game of the season so far for KHS.

KHS congratulates all the players that participated in the different matches and looks forward to the rest of the season’s matches.
