Maragon’s very first sport day

The tug-of-war was the highlight of the day.

Maragon Avianto recently hosted their very first official sports day for 2017.

The event was a great success with parents, learners and teachers all participating.

“This is a first for our school and we are very excited about our new fields and soon-to-come swimming pool,” said principal Monica de Beer.

Coach Jean-Marc Rougier and all the teachers planned all the items, which included long-distance running, tug-of-war, 100m sprint and 100m hurdles.

The day started early with the children, parents and all the teachers ready for what the day would bring. The event concluded after loads of laughter, much fun and even full tummies as everyone was spoiled with a packet of chips and juice.

“It was a glorious, sunny day on the Maragon field,” said Grade 4 learner Chelsey Fulton.

The school is proud of everyone who helped to make the day a huge success and is looking forward to hosting more events and sports days on their brand-new fields.
