It is alleged that 54-year-old Jimmy Kendall was sitting in his parked Toyota Aygo at the scene at about 7.20pm when a silver BMW parked behind him. Four unknown males jumped out of the vehicle.

Two of the suspects went to the victim and started fighting with him, while the other two remained standing behind his vehicle. One of the suspects fired several shots, hitting the victim in his upper body. He died instantly. The suspects got back into their vehicle and fled the scene.

The man was declared dead on scene by Netcare 911 paramedics. Krugersdorp’s Sector 4 Community Policing Forum and its first aiders were also on scene.

The suspects are still at large and police are urging community members to come forward with any information that might lead to their arrest. Police are also urging community members not to confront the suspects because they are armed.
