Career expo aims to guide pupils

The West Rand Chamber of Business and Tourism (WRCBT) together with the Rotary Club of Krugersdorp hosted a successful three-day career expo at the Greenhills Stadium in Randfontein.

The event was for pupils in Grade 10, 11 and 12 and took place from 11 to 13 March.

According to Dehlia van Staden of the WRCBT, the purpose of the event was to allow pupils from the different schools on the West Rand an opportunity and a platform to gather information about different careers available to them.

“It is becoming increasingly important to make the right choice regarding your career for the future and that is why we had this event.

“We want our pupils to know that there are different career paths so that they can gather the necessary information and also know what is required of them to get to that level.

“The aim of the exhibition was to provide pupils, their educators and parents with as much information as possible on a wide variety of careers. We are certain that we will achieve our objectives.

“So far, we have had such an amazing turnout and we are confident that our pupils will go back to their schools feeling a lot less confused about their career choices,” says Van Staden.
