Local motorcycle clubs ride against farm murders

The Delphiniums and Megaforce Motorcycle Clubs (MC) held a massive get-together to raise awareness of the devastation that farm murders leave in South Africa. The News was there to capture the special moment. More than 100 bikers gathered at Sasol Pinehaven early that morning and sure enough every person who passed the station had 180 degree smiles as they saw beautiful bikes and even some of their favourite luxury cars. Red Heart Riders bikers club had the most members who brought their motorcycles to town.

Youth Day fundraiser at local lodge

Riverstone Lodge, in conjunction with a number of local churches, hosted a celebration for Youth Day with Gospel music and activities, while at the same time raising money for the youth-orientated charities. The News was there to share in the festivities.

Local police conquer cycling champs

Policemen and -women from all nine provinces took part in the challenge, and a 10th, from head office, also joined them. Head office had one champion, Vusi Marenene, who won second place in Gauteng.
