Three-vehicle collision leaves three injured

Three people were injured, two of them seriously, late on Thursday 23 March on Luipaard Street, when two trucks and a bakkie collided.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene and found one truck in the middle of the road. A second, smaller truck and bakkie were found on the side of the road.

The paramedics found three men lying outside the small truck, surrounded by several members of the community. They assessed the three men and found that one had sustained critical injuries to his head while another had serious fractures. The third man had sustained only moderate injuries, in the form of cuts to his face.

The paramedics treated the patients and provided the seriously and critically injured with advanced life support interventions. Quick Response (QRS) and ER24 then transported the seriously injured patients to Netcare Krugersdorp Hospital.

The exact cause of the collision is not yet known, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
