The audience had a blast being entertained by Steve Ashley's music.

It was an entertaining evening for the community when world-class entertainer Steve Ashley took to the stage.

Steve was the vocalist of The Staccatos, one of the most successful bands in South Africa, with hits like Cry to me and Butchers and Bakers.

Ebeth Loots, Steve’s manager, hosted An Evening with Steve Ashley – a timeless production to create awareness for this singer on the West Rand. The event took place at Krugersdorp High School and about 150 guests, including local business owners, attended the event.

“Music is all about fun, and having fun,” said Steve. Steve is a phenomenal singer and entertainer in a class of his own and had the audience up on their feet with his hits. He entertained them with hits from the 60s, 70s, and 80s and sang ballads, country, pop and rock music, along with some current songs.

Steve lived and worked in the UK, and on his return to South Africa in the 80s, did a number of television shows He is busy with his Tom Jones and Timeless tribute shows all around the country and is also working on his second solo album, which will be released soon.

Ebeth Loots, Ann Kleynhans and Steve Ashley made the evening possible.

“Steve entertained us fantastically tonight,” said Susie Diedericks.

Steve made his performance extra special by having dancers interacting with the audience. Even though he is no longer a spring chicken, he still feels active, positive and young at heart.
