Krugersdorp Police have once again sent out an official warning, but this time they have focused on bicycle riders in the Cradle of Humankind.
“A number of cases have been reported by cyclists who’ve become victims of criminal activities,” said Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, the spokesperson for the Krugersdorp Police.
The police said it has come to their attention that after the cyclists finish their rides through the Cradle, they normally go to restaurants for some refreshments, leaving their bicycles in the bike racks attached to their vehicles. But when they get back from the restaurants, they often find that their expensive bicycles have been stolen.
“Please make sure you secure the bicycles properly to avoid being the next victim,” said Mashale.
Anyone with information that could assist in arresting people who have committed these crimes should please contact the Krugersdorp Police on 011 951 1151 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
