A man lost his life when his motorcycle collided with a taxi on Wednesday, 16 November on the corner of Kagiso Avenue and Themba Drive in Kagiso.
It is alleged that the taxi driver attempted to make a U-turn in the middle of the road, causing the driver of the motorcycle to collide with him. Mogale City Traffic officers, emergency services and the Kagiso Police were called to the scene and the road was closed for public use for almost three hours.
A passenger of the taxi was injured and taken to hospital, but the driver of the motorcycle was certified dead on the scene.
“The festive season is already here and we urge drivers to drive with utmost caution as there are more cars on the road now.
Please be extremely patient with each other,” said the spokesperson for Mogale City Traffic, Papi Motaung.
