No taxi violence on Voortrekker

The group gathered on Voortrekker Road this afternoon after alleged taxi violence broke out.

At around 1pm today (15 March) the News received reports about taxi violence at the intersection known as the weekend robot, but the rumours of gun shots being fired seems to be false.

The News was on scene at the Voortrekker and Barratt Road intersection where a large crowd gathered next to a taxi and a few police vehicles. The police and members of the group were talking and no violence erupted.

The News however understands that a heated argument did take place.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, said she will contact the News if any information regarding the incident comes to light.
