The desperate cries and screams of a woman were heard along Swartberg Street in Noordheuwel as intruders made their way into her property.

The News received information from a resident living down the street about the commotion at the house at around 1.45pm yesterday afternoon.

It is believed that two suspect entered the property where they found the 27-year-old victim napping on the couch.

The suspects then overpowered the woman and in a struggle forced her into a bedroom.

After ransacking the house the two suspects managed to flee with cell phones, a laptop and jewelery.

When the woman heard that the suspect had left the house, she came out from the bedroom and called for help.

A heavy police presence along with detectives and paramedics were on scene for nearly three hours after the incident.

The woman told the police that the two suspects were at the gate of the house earlier the day asking for water to drink.

A case of house robbery has since been registered at the Krugersdorp Police station for further investigation.
