A member of Sector 5’s Community Policing Forum (CPF) delivered their very first baby, and it is a bouncing baby boy.

Elizabeth Swanepoel, one of the CPF’s patrollers, responded to a call-out in Appelpark, where a young woman was in labour and needed medical assistance at around 7.40am on 30 January.

The family of the woman contacted state ambulance services for help and later reached out to the CPF when the woman’s contractions started getting more intense.

On arrival at the house, the CPF’s first aid responders checked the patient’s blood pressure and general health.

Suddenly Cecilia van Wyk’s water broke at around 7.50am.

Elizabeth acted swiftly and quickly cleared the room and instructed family to bring a bucket of water and towels.

Five minutes later, Cecilia welcomed with the help of Elizabeth, a little boy named Jondry Morny van Wyk into the world.

Jondry van Wyk was delivered by CPF Sector 5's very own Elizabeth Swanepoel.

“I would like to thank everyone who played a role in the birth of Jondry. This was truly a wonderful experience and also a miracle that everything worked out in the end. Welcome to the world little Jondry!” Elizabeth said.
