[VIDEO] New van stolen in 79 seconds

Two armed robbers storm the security guard booth at Action Ford on Voortrekker Road.

Another brand-new vehicle was stolen from the Action Ford Dealership in an armed robbery last night, 20 July.

CCTV footage shows a silver Audi dropping off two suspects at the entrance of the dealership at approximately 8pm.

Next the two armed suspects are seen approaching the guardhouse where they point their guns at the guard demanding the keys to a vehicle.

In the meanwhile the Audi disappears from the scene and one of the suspects is seen going to a vehicle while the other keeps the guard in the guardhouse at gunpoint.

A white Ford Transit van is seen driving towards the entrance where the suspects then drive off in the vehicle which they managed to steal in 79 seconds.

After the suspects fled the scene the security guard managed to press the panic button.

EPR security patrol vehicles responded to the scene and the members of the Sector 8 Community Policing Forum were called to help search for the vehicle, but with no luck.

The News contacted Action Ford Krugersdorp principle, Hartogh Streicher who confirmed the incident and expressed his frustration about frequently being targeted in a voice recording interview:

“EPR is responsible for the offsite monitoring of the CCTV systems for Action Ford. After the guard managed to activate the panic button, EPR arrived on the site within a minute,” Johan Krogh, General Manager for EPR, commented.

A case had been opened at the Krugersdorp police station after receiving the complaint.

“What makes this case difficult is that the stolen vehicle was new without any registration number plates,” Sergeant Tshepiso Mashale, spokesperson for the Krugersdorp police, commented.

This is the eighth incident Action Ford experienced since the branch moved from the CBD to Kenmare.
